Some time ago we received a heads-up that Bloomington author Michael Koryta had written a mystery set at West Baden Springs. We don't have the book yet, so I decided to read his other books. The first one is Tonight I Said Goodbye. It's set in Cleveland; the main characters are Lincoln Perry and Joe Pritchard, former cops who now have a private detective business; Amy Ambrose is a local newspaper reporter and she keeps them on the straight and narrow. After Wayne Weston supposedly commits suicide, Perry and Pritchard are hired by his father to prove he didn't and to find the wife and daughter who have disappeared. A clue found in the daughter's room helps turn the investigation around and leads Perry to a difficult decision about the case. I liked this book a lot, especially the humorous byplay between Perry and Pritchard.
